This nail salon does beautiful nails. The staff are very friendly and work very carefully. I’m very satisfied with the service here. The salon is very clean and relaxing.

I’m still new to the area since I just arrived about a week ago, and I found this nail salon conveniently located right across the walking gate. I thought it might be less expensive to have my nails done in Korea compared to the U.S. According to the price list, a full set extension was listed at $65, and a pedicure at $45–$55. I decided to get both—a full set extension and a pedicure—with magnetic "cat eye" polish. The design was very simple—just a solid color with a silver tip, nothing elaborate. The staff were very nice and friendly, and I had no complaints about the service or the results. However, when it came time to pay, she calculated the total very quickly on her calculator, and it came out to $205. This was much higher than I expected—especially since similar services would actually cost less back in the States. It felt like she already knew Americans are willing to pay more because of our stronger currency. Another thing I found odd was that after my card was processed, she signed the transaction on my behalf without asking for my permission. It seems that additional charges were added for various small details, but I had assumed the listed price for a "full set" included everything. The receipt only showed the total, without an itemized breakdown. I would recommend that anyone visiting this salon ask for a detailed quote in advance and confirm what’s included in the price. While I appreciate the quality of the work and the friendly service, the pricing caught me off guard. In the future, I’ll probably look for salons farther from the base—since services inside and near Camp Humphreys tend to be more expensive, especially those charging in USD rather than local currency.

I’ve been coming to Star Nails for 6+ years and always leave with happy! Amy and her staff are professionals and always help me pick a design…. I trust her implicitly. If you are new to Korea, there’s something you may need to know: almost all nail salons will charge to take off a polish color if they were not the ones who put it on you. Coming from America the first time, this was a shock to me as well, but having lived here for a while now and visiting several nail salons in and around both Seoul and Pyeongtaek, it is not unusual to find in any of the salons. It’s a normal practice, and they all do it. If you are trying out a place for the first time, it’s always a good idea before you start a service to find out at the beginning what the cost of your service will be so that there are no surprises at the end.

This place follows U.S. military regulations perfectly, which makes me feel very comfortable coming here. The staff are not only extremely friendly but also very skilled at what they do. The location is convenient, and the overall service is outstanding. I was very satisfied with my visit and will definitely be coming back 🙂
